Today, is Clean Out Your Computer Day and in honour of that I thought I could “clean out” the best computer God has ever created: the brain; MY brain to be more specific. You see my brain has reached a stand still with writing. However, cleaning out my brain AKA writing what I am writing right now 🤪 will hopefully help me to get the creativity going again!
Yesterday, I reached out to some of my friends and asked them to tell me, what were their first thought that came to their mind when they thought of the word “February.” Some of them thought of the grey skies, the cold weather, and misery. Others thought about the in-between of winter and spring and how nobody really knows what to call this period. Lastly, some thought of Valentine’s Day and cinnamon heart candies.
You might be wondering where I’m going with this… don’t worry I’m getting there. Ask yourself what do all these things have in common? What do cinnamon hearts and cold weather have in common? Or what do Valentine’s Day and misery have in common? Well not a lot, however here’s the thing. One, many people do not like the cold weather because it is cold (what a surprise), painful, and harsh. Another is the sky; the sky if seen during a sunset can be awe-mazing and increase you mood of happiness a whole lot yet, when the sky is covered with grey, plain clouds that can sometime call for misery. Now, what does cinnamon heart candies and Valentine’s Day have to with the sky or the cold weather. Well, you see, a friend told me when you think of a cinnamon heart candy, you think it will be sweet but, then you bite into it and realize that it is hard, spicy, and sometimes unpleasant. Valentine’s Day can be just the same: you are either on one end of the spectrum: single as a Pringle or happily in love with your Valentine. Just like the heart candies, it will never be what you expect or hope for. Just like the grey sky or the cold weather, it will never be exactly what you anticipated.
When I first started writing this out, I wanted my post to be around the word “February” and what it should represent for me in my life, I hope you realized that all these things I have written about all represent the word “February.”
However, I do not want to leave this thought without it being unclear, what I want you to realize is the reason to why we need February. Not the month, but the trusted, deepest meaning you could think of that represents the word “February.” You see without February there would be no long days, in the shortest month. There would be no February misery, there would be no valentine’s day, and the weather would go from frozen to spring too fast.
February is (the) hard times. Without hard times we would be constantly in a stand still mood. Those hardships remind us of the good times that are to come. When the snow is melting and the sky is grey, it is in that moment you remember when the sky was blue and warm and freeing. We need February’s hard times to remember the coming of spring, and summer, and the good times.
Well I think that is all the cleaning of my computer I will do for today! 😁 I hope you enjoyed this small thought of mind. (I also hope that this wasn’t to complicated to understand LOL)
As always thanks for read, ~Victoria ❤
